Liberia Vision Clinic

Liberia, on the West African coast, was the first African republic to declare its independence, in 1847. After the American Civil War, thousands of African Americans migrated to Liberia, joining freed slaves from the Caribbean and the existing African population. Today Liberia has a population of five million.

Many people in remote villages lack access to basic necessities. Unto partners in Liberia build relationships with people in rural locations and provide resources including food, clothing, school supplies to orphanage children, and much needed water filters. You too can help villagers by providing for another great need — eyeglasses.

As a member of this team you will travel to village areas in rural Liberia. There you and your teammates will meet one-to-one with people in several locations to assess vision and provide needed glasses. By providing glasses through these clinics you help our partners build stronger relationships in the villages so they can continue to meet critical needs and share the hope of Jesus.

Trip participants will receive training for eyeglass fittings at the beginning of the trip.
